Global warming is alarming and we have to take immediate action to mitigate the situation. Electricity generation accounts for more than 60% of total greenhouse emissions and lighting is one of the top five sources in energy consumption. In light of this, some countries have begun to prohibit the use of incandescent lights and encourage consumers to lead an eco-living lifestyle. And now, a simple switch to an eco-lighting system at home actually makes a difference to the environment.
A green and intelligent home is becoming the trend. Wesley Liu, an in town interior designer, always tries to inject environmentally friendly elements in his projects, and recommends that switching to eco-lighting can help to lower CO2 emissions and create a comfortable home. From time to time, lots of halogen lamps are used to highlight interior decors, leading to a waste of energy and an increase in room temperature due to the high heat released by the lamps. However, better options of compact fluorescent lamps and LED lamps, which generate much less heat and consume less electricity, helping to reduce carbon, are available now. These years, the U.S. and the EU are starting to gradually phase out incandescent bulbs from the market. Adopting an eco-lighting solution in the interior design is definitely an upcoming trend. He also said that with sophisticated lighting design and wise selection of eco-lighting products, it is easy to transform your home into a stylish, high quality environment.

Wesley於客飯廳以嶄新的曼佳美®LED反射燈營造出高貴格調的燈光效果。LED反射燈燈光效果媲美石英燈、卻產生極低熱力,慳電更高達80%。他更特意選用配合牆身色調的暖黃光燈,讓一室瀰漫著舒適溫暖的感覺。
In the living and dining room, Wesley has employed the MEGAMAN® LED reflectors instead of halogen lamps as downlights to create an elegant atmospheric lighting effect. This helps to save up to 80% electricity and generate much less heat than the halogens. What’s more, matching the colour of the wall, the designer has selected the warm yellowish light to create a cosy living space.

浴室方面,設計師以FOZZ OPERA燈具配用曼佳美®慳電膽提供主要照明,並於牆身安裝了防水防塵(具有IP值65)的意大利LOMBARDOCLASS TONDA型格壁燈,兼顧了產品的耐用和安全性,同時充分流露屋主品味。
The FOZZ OPERA lantern has been used along with the MEGAMAN® energy saving lamps as the major light source in the bathroom. To further enhance the atmosphere, the Italian LOMBARDO class Tonda wall lamps (IP65), which are waterproof and dustproof, were employed.
時下流行綠色智能家居,一向奉行環保的室內設計師Wesley Liu建議於家居照明裝置上轉用環保照明產品,不但可以減少碳排放又能營造出舒適的家居環境。一直以來,室內設計往往用上很多石英燈,耗電量高之餘更會因石英燈所產生的高溫而造成過熱情況;相反,慳電膽及LED燈產生的熱量極低,而且耗電量少;近年一些歐美國家亦正逐步禁用鎢絲燈泡,於家居轉用節能照明產品實為大勢所趨。他更表示,只要巧妙地運用燈光設計,便能輕而易舉地打造出時尚的綠色生活空間。

Wesley以跑馬地一個1,300呎、三房兩廳的單位作示範,於客廳、飯廳、寢室,以至廚房浴室等不同家居位置用上環保照明產品,輕易塑造低碳舒適的家居環境。
Taking a 1,300-square-foot flat in Happy Valley as an example, Wesley Liu has demonstrated how to create a cosy and comfortable home with the use of eco-lighting products in different areas including the living room, dining room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom.

曼佳美®LED反射燈亦可用於睡房照明,其窄角聚光效果能有效凸顯出獨特的室內裝潢設計。此外,設計師採用了曼佳美®一體化直管作間接照明,房間頓時更添型格。
Similarly, MEGAMAN® LED reflectors have also been used in the bedroom. The LED reflectors possess a narrow beam angle that can deliver a focused shaft of light to highlight the uniqueness of the interiors. Moreover, the designer has chosen the MEGAMAN® Self-Ballasted Linear for recessed lighting, adding a special touch to the room.

Wesley為了提供廚房充足光線作為烹調所需,特別於廚房櫥櫃下的狹窄空間裝置了纖薄輕巧的曼佳美®GX53碟形慳電膽,實用又環保。
To provide a sufficient brightness level for cooking, Wesley has installed the dish-shaped MEGAMAN® CFL GX53 lamps, which are compact and practical under the cabinets.

而BOLLA枱燈的獨特球型全透明玻璃燈罩設計則配合了曼佳美®GU10慳電杯膽使用,光源的投射角度更為廣闊,為閱讀提供充足舒適的光線。
The BOLLA table lamp boasts a specially designed transparent ball-shaped lamp shield. MEGAMAN® CFL GU10 reflectors were in use to provide wide spread and sufficient light for reading.

Furthermore, Wesley has selected two chic decorative luminaires to elevate the style of the home. The LEUCOS FIOLA table lamp is designed by the Italian designer, Tobia Scarpa, who has successfully integrated the essence of the blow-moulded glass and modern technology. The MEGAMAN® DIMMERABLE lamps, which can adjust the brightness of your choice, further help to create a fantastic atmosphere.
